Description: Are you interested in promoting your career using social media but aren’t sure how to get started? Two speakers will give you the inside scoop on how to use online services such as Linked In and Twitter to promote yourself as a dynamic information technology professional. Creating Personal Visibility with Social Media will provide an overview of how social media and collaboration tools can be used efficiently and effectively in the workplace as a way to build your professional profile and increase your visibility inside and outside of the organization. The presentation will examine the elements of a good professional profile and easy-to-use tools for building an integrated professional profile.

This session will feature two speakers with expertise in this area:

Boni Candelario is a Training Support Specialist in the Organizational Effectiveness and Staff Development department within Yale Human Resources.  She has worked at Yale for seven years and was recently named Co-Chair for the Yale Latino Affinity Group.  At Yale, she has created sought after strategic career programming to empower individuals to navigate their career, go outside of their comfort zone, and communicate their value and skills.

Since 2009, Boni has managed her blog, Coach’m Up (www.coachmup.com), Career Strategy and Empowerment for Women and recently she authored and published an e-book, Career Strategy for Bloggers: How to Use Your Blogging Skills for Offline Success based on her coaching work with Bloggers and Social Media Managers. Boni holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Quinnipiac University.

Adriene Radcliffe is the Yale ITS Collaboration and Social Media Evangelist within the Office of the CIO and has over twenty-eight years of IT experience.  Most recently, she was the Director of IT Governance, Service Management and e-Services. In this role she successfully used social media and collaboration tools to create global recognition for the Yale ITS Service Management program as a leading program in the IT and higher-education communities.  The Yale ITS Service Management group is now highly sought after to deliver content at national conferences, and to consult on the topic with corporate and higher-education peers.
