On December 14, YAAA held its annual Holiday Social at 50s on Fitch in New Haven. It was a celebratory event which culminated a year of service, professional development, and fellowship within the Yale community. The theme of the social was bridging community. YAAA appreciates the hospitality from 50s on Fitch, proprietor Joy Monsanto, a new business in the Westville community. Guests included members of the Yale community along with community organizations such as the NAACP, B & P The New Haven Club, Inc., Firebirds, Sheba Chapter OES PHA, Phi Beta Sigma, Delta Sigma Theta, and Omega Psi Phi. There was a prize drawing containing prizes from local businesses such as Elm City Candle, Style 2000, Jordan’s Hotdog and Mac, and the New Haven Omni; which raised $300 towards Yale’s United Way campaign. The event has created great momentum into a new year of programming and community collaborations.
