What is your current role at Yale University?

  • My current role is a Talent Acquisition Partner here in Talent Acquisition.

What are your main responsibilities?

My goal is to guide them in making the best decisions. Additionally, I focus on cultivating relationships with candidates, demonstrating that I am genuinely invested in helping them find the right role at Yale.

How does your job affect your general lifestyle?

  • I am always networking! Recruiting gives you access to different professional networks, and diverse individuals. It helps enhance both personal and career growth. Helping candidates secure jobs and clients the right talent is incredibly rewarding, gives me great satisfaction and fulfillment.

How did you begin your career?

  • I began my career eight years ago in a staffing agency, focusing on full-cycle recruiting. This hands-on experience has not only equipped me with comprehensive skills but also grew the resiliency I needed to be the best Talent Acquisition partner I can be.

What skills, abilities, and personal attributes are essential to success in your job/this field?

  • Throughout my journey, I have developed and refined essential skills such as persuasiveness, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning. Additionally, I believe that empathy, resilience, time management, and strong organizational skills are key attributes that contribute to my success both personally and professionally in this field.

If you could do it all over again, would you choose the same path for yourself? If not, what would you change?

  • If I could do it all over again, I would have transitioned from corporate recruiting to higher education much sooner! However, every step of my journey has shaped my story, and I’ve gained invaluable insights along the way. I wouldn’t change a thing about my experiences, as they’ve contributed significantly to who I am today.

What does YAAA mean to you and how have you contributed as a member?

  • YAAA gave me a sense of belonging. Being a member, attending events and my desire to volunteer more comes from the friendships, the support the encouragement, and the community that YAAA has given me.
