Not an avid fitness guru? Not to worry!! Personal Trainer, Cheri Eleazer, will guide us by providing easy to follow exercise techniques. Bringing her extensive knowledge in the fitness industry, Cheri will offer exercises that you can incorporate into your daily routine ultimately building up strength for a more strenuous exercise, if you wish, if not, modifications will be offered.

Dr. Black is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of General Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, where she serves as the Associate Program Director for Diversity and Inclusion in the Yale Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program.

Join the Yale African American Affinity Group and Working Women’s Network for an event with Oyere Onuma, MD. Dr. Onuma will give you the answers you need in order to protect your heart both now and in the future.

Dr. Onuma is an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the Preventive Cardiovascular Health Program, which is a nationally recognized authority on global health and cardiovascular disease prevention. An alumna of the Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Onuma returned to Yale in 2019 as an Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine.

Royster ’72 for a celebration of 50 years of coeducation at Yale College, members of the “first women at Yale” lunch and learn.

Join the Yale African American Affinity Group and Shari Caldwell for an African dance workshop. This dance class, also known as Contemporary African, infuses traditional African Dance with contemporary movement. An enjoyable rhythmic experience for lovers of the Motherland. The many cultures of Africa’s diaspora are well represented in this class. The music will capture and propel the soul of the novice as it does the seasoned artist. All are welcome!

Join the Yale African American Affinity Group, Yale Latino Networking Group, and Dianne Davis for a presentation that will review signs and symptoms which may indicate the early stage of dementia, as well as lifestyle changes which promote brain health.

Dianne Davis, RN, MSN is the Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Yale Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. She is a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association, and for many years worked with individuals with dementia and their families as a geriatric case manager at the Adler Geriatric Assessment Center.

Join the Yale African American Affinity Group and Scheri Walker for virtual Black history month line dancing instruction. Scheri will provide beginner friendly line dances, so that participation is fun, and isn’t overly challenging. All are welcome to attend this family friendly event.

Being resilient is a set of learnable skills. It’s not something that we either have or do not have as human beings. A major part of what helps us to be more resilient are some of our best qualities already within us - particularly our strengths of gratitude, kindness, and hope.
