Professor Daphne Brooks will discuss her new book “Liner Notes for the Revolution: The Intellectual Life of Black Feminist Sound” (Harvard UP, 2021) which explores more than a century of music archives to examine the critics, collectors, and listeners who have determined perceptions of Black women on stage and in the recording studio. April’s guest speaker will be Coach James Jones, the longest tenured head coach in the Ivy League, in his 23rd year. Coach Jones is the winningest men’s basketball coach in school history and 2nd winningest coach in Ivy League history, with 191 Ivy wins.
