Career Spotlight - Alexis Willoughby

What is your current role at Yale University?
 
I am presently a Custodial Team Leader (CTL) at the Yale School of Management.
 
What are your main responsibilities?
 
My responsibilities as a CTL are to assist management and custodians in maintaining a clean environment, as well as managing event set ups for our customers in the Yale SOM community.
 
What do you like most about your work?
 

Event Recap: Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba Dance Workshop

On February 5th, in honor of Black History Month, the Yale African American Affinity Group, Future Leaders of Yale, and Yale Latino Networking Group held a family friendly virtual Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba dance workshop that was led by Movimiento Cultural Afro-Continental (MCAC), Inc. 125 attendees tuned in to learn about Bomba, the oldest Puerto Rican dance and music style that is rooted in resistance and dates back to the days of slavery.

What is your current role at Yale University?
 
Administrative Assistant in Development in the Department of Major Gifts. 
 
What are your main responsibilities?
 
I support three major gift officers. When they are traveling, I make travel arrangements, process and run any expense reports, and handle filing and data entry.

ECHO Perfect 10 Training & Internship

Echo Perfect 10 is a training and experiential learning initiative implemented to prepare high school students and young adults for introduction to workplace culture, nurture interest in a variety of employment opportunities, increase self-confidence and ultimately support successful employment placement.  It is a preparatory employment program comprised of three learning tiers – curricula-based training (Tier I), job shadowing (Tier II), and internships (Tier III) and is available to high school students who reside in New Haven.
