Adopt A Family

Tis the season of thanksgiving and benevolence! This year, the Yale African American Affinity Group (YAAA) will partner with The New Haven Club, Inc. to bring holiday cheer to a family registered with the Christian Community Action, Inc. For more than 51 years, CCA has been a force for community building and social change. CCA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. They provide emergency housing, food, and a variety of support services including case management, job search assistance, family counseling, and workshops to families that are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

YAAA Summer Social Recap

On August 8th, YAAA held its annual Summer Social at 50’s on Fitch located in New Haven. This year’s theme was picture perfect, and YAAA’s very own Merieta Bayati photographed the event. Local artist Stefanie Nicholas displayed her artwork throughout the venue, while Kelley Knight took to the mic with spoken-word. The evening consisted of professional networking, good food, great vibes, and live music from New Haven native DJ Herman Ham. YAAA would like to thank the 50’s on Fitch proprietor Joy Monsanto for her continued generosity in hosting our events.
